The Big Move

Ladies and Gentleman, we are here. Dan and I made it to the beautiful island of Grand Cayman. We arrived on Friday after a long flight and though we were both exhausted, we were insanely excited. The Manager of the store we will soon be working at picked us up. His name is David and he is way nice and made us feel very welcome. He let us know that we would start work on Monday so we could have the weekend to get settled in and familiarize ourselves with the area. While Dan and I were out at dinner Friday, we started talking to our waitress who moved from Ireland and has lived on the island for seven years. She told us where the closest grocery store was, weather or not the water is safe to drink, (thank goodness that it is) and other things about the island. She told us the water sometimes gets choppy for a couple days at a time then goes back to crystal clear and very smooth. It was pretty choppy today so we weren't able to snorkel like we had hoped. Who can complain though.... We get to live here for 6 months! Anyways, before the beach we took a trip to the grocery store. We had to load up our backpacks in order to bike home. Luckily we had barely enough room for everything. We are feeling settled in to our apartment and are SO excited to see what adventures await us here!
